Amanda Tapping Bio

Amanda Tapping, a British-Canadian actress/director was born 28 August 1965. Her most well-known role is playing Samantha Carter in the Canadian-American military-themed science fiction television series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. She was also the star of Sanctuary which is a science-fiction, TV show that focuses on fantasy. At the age of three, old, Tapping, who was born in Rochford (Essex), England and moved to Canada with her family. She went to North Toronto Collegiate Institute, where she was a star in Environmental Science and Drama. Following her graduation in 1984, Tapping decided to concentrate her focus on the field of Drama. She attended the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts, Windsor, Ontario. Tapping and Alan Kovacs live together in Vancouver, British Columbia. [13] 1413][14] Tapping is the mother of a child born to Kovacs. Tapping has shared her 8 miscarriages and the difficulties she endured throughout her marriage in hopes that other miscarrying mothers would feel less alone. Tapping has two brothers living, Richard and Christopher; a third brother, Steven who was suffering from epilepsy and often uncontrollable seizures, died in December 2006 of causes that have not been disclosed by the Tapping family
