Simone Biles's Career, Childhood and Early Life

Simone Biles was a gymnastics prodigy from a young age. After dominating the junior elite level, Simone Biles took home her first U.S. all-around title in 2013 and her second world all-around title in the year 2015. She took home a record-breaking third consecutive all-around championship in 2015. Biles went on to lead the U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics team, affectionately known as "The Final Five," to victory at the 2016 Summer Games, while also winning gold in the individual all-around, floor and vault exercises, and winning bronze on the balance beam. Biles went on to grab an all-time record sixth U.S. all-around title in 2019, and set another record when she won her 25th World Championship medal that fall.

Simone is the third of the four siblings. The others include Ashley, Tevin and Adria. Adria Biles is also an athlete in gymnastics. Simone was raised by her grandpa, Ron Biles (Shanon's father), as well as his wife, Nellie Cayetano Biles. Ron is an air traffic controller. Nellie is an RN and the former co-owner of a chain of nursing homes in the USA.

In the 2013 National Championships, she won the title of all-round champion ahead of Kyla Ross, who was the previous gold medalist. She took silver in all of the four events. This earned her a spot on the Senior National Team and the World Championship Team.
