Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora is a British musician and singer from the UK. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter who was born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. Her family relocated to the United Kingdom at age 1. Her home was West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she was able to graduate from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at a young stage of her life. In 2004, she was a part of the British movie Spivs. She was invited to audition for Eurovision: Your Country Needs You which was a British participant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she decided to withdraw from the contest after only a few episodes due to the fact that she didn't feel prepared. In 2007 Ora got her first music video when she sang on the track by Craig David entitled "Awkward" and then again in 2008 on "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she also appeared in the music video. Ora began to sing in bars across London. Roc Nation was informed by an A&R about Ora in the year 2009 just days after Ora flew to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora appeared in Jay-Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever" and "Over" from Drake. Jay-Z was impressed by Ora's talents and quietly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was part of a commercial for Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik owned a bar and she began her career as a singer from the same bar. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a pub manager and she started singing in the same pub. Kate Moss, Ed Sheeran and their friends.
