Summer Bishil Bio

Summer Bishil was raised in Pasadena (California). Her family and she moved overseas when she was three. Summer was a student at American and British schools while her family moved abroad. They returned home to Pasadena, California just before her 14th birthday. Summer was five years old when she discovered her passion for acting and enrolled in her first acting class. Nine months later, she was signed by an agent and an agent and started to follow her dreams full-time. In her spare time, she attends college and is working towards her degree. Dana Stevens, a Slate critic, wrote that "Her performance in a movie that for all its good intentions is completely fake somewhat embarrassing, as if it were an extended PSA about inappropriate touching is the most truthful thing." Bob Strauss, who writes for various Los Angeles newspapers, states that Bishil, "...is one of the most natural film actresses to emerge in recent times." Gary Goldstein in a September 12 Los Angeles Times review of the film Towelhead, stated that, "...newcomer Summer Bishil turns in a strong, nimble, riveting performance as Jasira. "In 2009, she shot Wayne Kramer's project, Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd, a portrayal which garnered praise from the Associated Press's Jay Reiner. The film was a part she was cast to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan's film The Last Airbender, and was planned to be the protagonist of the planned , but never produced sequel.
