Los Angeles, California in 1970. Her parents moved to Dallas, Texas shortly
after her birth. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School of the
Performing and Visual Arts in downtown Dallas. Later she received the BFA
diploma from Stephens College in acting and was also a student at British
American Drama Academy. She was a part of the Dallas Theatre Center as well as
a year with Encore Company. Prior to her big screen debut she began her acting
career in the theater. Her stage credits in theater include the productions of
"As You Like It", "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the
Forum", "Measure for Measure", "Baby" and
"Chicago" along with many more. Her most memorable performance was in
Michael Cristofer's HBO Telefilm Gia (1998) featuring Angelina Jolie. She made
her famous to viewers and critics. Elizabeth was able to show off her
charismatic acting talent in the film Frequency (2001 with Dennis Quaid) and
Neil LaBute's sci-fi adventure Nurse Betty ((2000) with Rene Zellweger). With a
variety of credits in theaters, TV series and films, Elizabeth Mitchell
continues to give her best in the field of acting. During the filming of Frequency
((2000)) the actress injured her nose. In 1994, she filmed a Hertz Rent-A-Car
commercial but "they removed it due to the O.J. thing." David Lee
Smith was her boyfriend in the year 1995. They live in Dallas with their
parents, who are both tax and real estate attorneys. After a long time in the
theatre as Rosalind and then returning to the U.S. after having been in Europe
for a time. When she was born in LA in 1970, her parents moved to Dallas,
Texas. She graduated in 1991 from Booker T. Washington High School for
Performing and Visual Arts, situated within the Arts District of Dallas. She
graduated from Stephens College in 1991 with an Fine Arts Degree. The back end
2001 was spent in Cyd the character of Ioan Gruffudd. This series aired the
month of March on BBC 1 TV.
