Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston) and Freddie Wright, director of national operations at Mary Kay and
Freddie Wright. She was raised in San Diego. At the age of 14, she began her
professional life as a model. She was a model in Paris and Japan. She made the
decision to become an actress after she graduated high school. She was offered
a part on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated
three times for an Daytime Emmy. During the first season of the show, she
became a fan of co-star Dane Witherspoon, whom she got married in 1986. She
also appeared in The Princess Bride (1987), playing the title role. She was
given the role of Santa Barbara but left to play the role in Denial (1990) with
Jason Patric. She was introduced to Sean Penn in 1990 while she was in State of
Grace (1990). They had daughters Dylan Frances with him and an infant son
called Hopper Jack. After a short break, Robin was back to Hollywood with one
of the greatest roles of her career. She played Tara in The Playboys (1992).
She was stunning and flawless. In the following film, she appeared Toys (1992)
along alongside Robin Williams. She gave a hilarious performance. In 1994,
Wright was in the blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994), along with Tom Hanks. She
was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance as
Jenny. She was offered a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she
co-starred with Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she played the title
role in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring
Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing. Together with William Hurt, she was later
in Erin's Loved (1997).
