Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada on 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke
are her father. She is the middle child of two siblings: the older one, Natasha
Chalke, one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut in a TV-made
film called City Boy (1992). After her first movie Sarah was a candidate for
the role as Becky on Roseanne (1988) in 1993. After Alicia Goranson left the
show to go to college the show was searching for a replacement. Sarah graduated
from high school in 1995. She was also involved in the production of Roseanne
(1988) 1994-1995. Also, in 1994, Sarah co-starred in the film, Ernest Goes to
School (1994) alongside Jim Varney. Then, in 1996 she was in two films that
included Robin of Locksley (1996), and also Stand Against Fear (1996) where she
played a cheerleadernamed "Krista Wilson". Sarah was asked to appear
in a 1998 show called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy. It was a year following
Roseanne (1988). It was based on the show Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (2000),
Sarah also appeared in the show. Sarah took over the role of Becky in Roseanne
(1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. She stated that she would like to retire
from acting and enroll in college. 2001 (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's
elder sibling on Roseanne (1988) however, she's much younger real life.
Participated in the 1999 CCMA award ceremony and presented an award for the top
single of 1999. September 1999: Appeared at the age of 8 in Vancouver's theatre
productions. She is fluent in French, German and Spanish. She works in a
hospice that caters to terminally ill children and works for the Audrey Hepburn
Children's Fund. Chalke likes to cook with her friends (especially Thai or
sushi) and plays guitar, go on hikes, ski (she's an instructor), and kayaking.
Her father is a lawyer, as are her parents mediators. They also run an agency
for adoption of children. In the past she went with her parents to China to
coordinate the adoption of several orphans there.
