Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares simple and easy to master cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, along with the natural environment. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy she gained a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. It is a huge influence on how Burrell cooks. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children who face difficulties. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador which promotes awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the U.S. to share her culinary passion and professional career. Anne declared that she felt fortunate in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with other people.
